WATCH: Jimmy Fallon debate spoof shows candidates attacking moderator

Shut up, Jim!

Jimmy Fallon and company parodied Wednesday’s presidential debate with a skit showing candidates Mitt Romney (Fallon) and President Obama berating debate moderator Jim Lehrer (played by A.D. Miles).

During the real-life debate, the candidates consistently ran over their allotted time and disregarded Lehrer’s suggestions to wrap up their comments. The “Late Night” skit plays on that trend, showing Romney and Obama using creative and vulgar avenues to silence the moderator.

“Jim, I just politely gotta hush you up,” Fallon’s Romney says. “Hush child.”

Later, Romney calls Lehrer “a useless human being.”

“I think that’s a little …” Lehrer says, struggling to complete his thought.

“Well, I think it’s a little weird that you’re here still,” Romney responds. “Jim, I’m going to ask you to stop talking.”

Eventually Romney and Obama gang up on Lehrer, hurling threats, insults and curses at him, conduct unbecoming of an actual debate – but perfectly suitable for late-night parodies.
