Rams’ Amendola could miss 6 weeks

Rams coach Jeff Fisher had little to say about the condition of Danny Amendola, calling it a “competitive issue” after the receiver was injured during Thursday night’s 17-3 win over Arizona, but multiple reports said Amendola suffered a separated clavicle and would miss up to six weeks.

Fisher said he’d have an injury report on Wednesday regarding Amendola, but added he was certain the receiver would miss the Oct. 14 game at Miami.

The Rams reported a shoulder injury during the game and Amendola was favoring his right shoulder. He came into Week 5 second in the NFL with 31 catches and had one reception for 44 yards that set up the Rams’ first score.

CARDINALS:
Kevin Kolb wasn’t around to talk to reporters yesterday. The Cardinals quarterback probably was home nursing his many aches and pains in the aftermath of Arizona’s first loss of the season.

Kolb was sacked nine times after being nailed eight times a week earlier. When he wasn’t sacked, he often was slammed to the ground after barely getting off the pass.

he Cardinals’ offensive line, already considered a weak link, was exposed in a nationally televised flop, but coach Ken Whisenhunt was unwilling to be overly critical of the line.Rams running back Steven Jackson can void the final year of his contract after this season in a compromise after talks fell through on a long-term extension. The three-time Pro Bowler is the franchise’s career leading rusher.

STEELERS: Pittsburgh will be at full strength tomorrow for the first time this season.

“They had five sacks in [the first] three games,” he said. “We weren’t overly praiseworthy of them at that point either. You have to keep it consistent and have a middle line.”

Running back Rashard Mendenhall (right knee), linebacker James Harrison (left knee) and safety Troy Polamalu (calf) completed a full week of practice yesterday. They are all listed as probable and will play against the Eagles (3-1).

Mendenhall and Harrison will make their season debuts. Polamalu will play for the first time since a season-opening loss in Denver.

TITANS: Linebacker Colin McCarthy and receiver Kenny Britt, both nursing ankle injuries, are questionable for tomorrow’s game against Minnesota. McCarthy, Tennessee’s defensive captain, at least has practiced; Britt has not seen any action in two consecutive weeks due to his sprained left ankle.

McCarthy has not played since injuring the ankle in the season opener against New England.

BRONCOS: Linebacker D.J. Williams will be unavailable until mid-November after the NFL added three games to his suspension. Denver’s leading tackler in four of the last five seasons won’t be able to play until Week 11.

Williams was punished for violating the league’s substance abuse policy following his conviction in August of driving while ability impaired.

He already was serving a six-game suspension to start the season for violating the league’s banned-substances policy — such as performance enhancing drugs — after the NFL said he supplied a “non-human” urine sample during a drug test.

REDSKINS: Nickel cornerback Cedric Griffin will sit out tomorrow’s game against the Falcons, and running back Evan Royster is questionable with a sprained right knee. Griffin did not practice all week and will miss his second consecutive game with a hamstring injury.
