O, What a tangled web: the democrats’ distortions

The Issue: Accusations by Democrats that Mitt Romney was lying in his debate with President Obama.

Kudos to Rich Lowry for “Team O’s Pathetic ‘Liar, Liar’ Attack,” (PostOpinion, Oct. 9).

After skewering George W. Bush for the last five years of his presidency, saying that he lied us into a war — without ever providing a shred of evidence or lifting a finger to impeach him for the worst charge ever levied against a sitting president — do the Democrats think we’re so stupid that we’re now going to buy their unsubstantiated, post-debate claim that Mitt Romney lied?

Do these Democratic operatives have no shame? Is there no end to their baseless smears?

Are these the types of unscrupulous and contemptuous people we want leading our nation?

President Obama’s deputy campaign manager, Stephanie Cutter, lied about the Joe Soptic ad created by a pro-Obama super PAC, saying she didn’t know the Soptics’ story.

Then the tape of her conference call with Soptic surfaced.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Debbie Wasserman Shultz was caught on tape lying about quoting Israeli UN Ambassador Michael Oren. She even accused conservative media of making it up.

Every day, more evidence is surfacing that exposes the Obama administration’s lies and possible coverup regarding the terrorist attack in Libya.

Now, after his debate disaster, Obama and the Democrats are accusing Romney of lying.

I’ll give them this: They have a big set of brass you-know-what.

Did I miss Lowry’s “Pathetic Gingrich” column?

It was Newt Gingrich, not Obama, who, in addition to calling Romney a liar, said that you cannot have an honest debate with him because he doesn’t tell the truth.

Obama promised he’d make his administration the most transparent in history, so that our business is the people’s business.

He said he’d make it impossible for Congress and lobbyists to slip through pork-barrel projects.

Obama promised that whenever a bill winds up on his desk, we would have five days to see it online before it is signed into law.

Was ObamaCare one of those bills?

This presidency has been one big orchestrated lie covered up by the mainstream media, and they are now trying to sell to the American people that Romney is the liar.

If we were living on the Starship Enterprise, we’d all be yelling, “Beam me up, Scotty.”

Lowry’s column on lying is ironic.

Can anyone tell me who said these whoppers?

“We’ve got shovel-ready projects all across the country.”

“We will cut the deficit in half by the end of the first term.”

“If you like the health-care plan you have, you can keep that plan.”
