He’s on a fast track to jail

He needed a better getaway plan.

A serial bank robber fresh from ripping off an Upper East Side Chase branch was nabbed yesterday after MTA cops spotted him calmly waiting for a Metro-North train at 125th Street, authorities said.

Officers Michael Burns and Joseph Terracciano recognized Jerry Walton, 48, from a wanted poster linking him to six Manhattan heists.

They had just received an NYPD alert that Watson had struck again, at 79th Street and York Avenue at 10:55 a.m., allegedly his second robbery of the day. He’d also allegedly hit the Chase at 171 E. 72nd St.

The Waterbury, Conn., resident had $6,860 in cash and a small amount of heroin on him as he waited for the 12:17 p.m. train home, MTA cops said.
