What’s more important — Sesame St. or Main St.?

The Issue: President Obama’s criticism of Mitt Romney for wanting to cut the federal subsidy to PBS.

It is clear that President Obama and his surrogates lied to the American people about Libya (“Bam’s Big Bird Blather,” Editorial, Oct. 10).

But to Obama and his sycophants in the media, the big story is Big Bird.

Americans are finally appreciating how critical this election is to the survival of our nation, and the polls are reflecting a dramatic swing away from Obama.

Where are Obama’s priorities?

We have seniors on Social Security who can no longer pay their bills because of cuts to their benefits and the rising costs of everyday items like food and gasoline.

We have more Americans living in poverty and on food stamps, and millions desperate to find full-time jobs.

And since his first horrible debate, that fool has been standing in front of crowds, defending a fake bird’s right to continue to take our money.

Big Bird is worth millions and can pay his own way.

Clearly, this man and his supporters do not have any decency or common sense.

Obama cannot run on the record of his failed administration. Therefore, he must run on the success of a fictional children’s character.

Perhaps the bird can prepare Obama for his next debate.

With all of the domestic and foreign turmoil Obama has caused, one would think that he would be serious about running for another four years, instead of making a mockery of the election.

He should tell us why people cannot find jobs and why he refused to protect our embassies in savage lands.

Do your job first, and then you can watch “Sesame Street.”Elio Valenti

Watching Obama’s Big Bird ad comparing Mitt Romney to criminals like Bernie Madoff, I have to ask: Which con man did more damage to America?

Madoff understood that the wealthy see themselves as invincible, and that made them easy prey for his Ponzi scheme. Obama understood the frustration of liberals and the middle and underprivileged classes, making his election possible.

Madoff made some people less wealthy and others poor. Obama’s spending spree and socialist policies made America less wealthy and put the country on a financial cliff.

This campaign is brought to you by the letter O.

Obama cried “fowl” about the debate and laid an egg this week, citing Big Bird as the primary reason to vote for him.

Like a punch-drunk fighter taking a standing eight count, he’s seeing stars — and birds — after the drubbing he took in the first debate with Romney.

Obama might want to consider that not only does his opponent now look more presidential than he does but that he’s also been outshined by an 8-foot puppet.
