Fresh from her adventures in Beirut, a restless Carrie (Claire Danes) prepares for what she hopes will be a triumphant return to the CIA. Meanwhile, Brody (Damian Lewis) learns that The Tailor is on a terrorist watch list and in danger of imminent discovery. With no time to lose, he attempts a last-minute attempt to move him to a safe house. And Jessica (Morena Baccarin) takes risks of her own as she steps into the political limelight. Co-starring Mandy Patinkin.

Bluebird duet drama

Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten) recapture some of their old magic when they perform a duet at Nashville’s famous Bluebird club. Juliette (Hayden Panettiere, below) sits in the audience and realizes it’s not going to be so easy for her to steal Rayna’s lead guitarist. Scarlett (Clare Bowen) wants to pursue her dream of songwriting with Gunnar (Sam Palladio), but is worried about leaving her boyfriend behind. On the political front, Rayna endures an investigation into her family’s background to help her husband’s mayoral campaign. The other candidate, Coleman Carlisle (Robert Wisdom), is prepared to do battle with Lamar Wyatt (Powers Boothe) if need be.

Back in the burbs

Does NBC finally have a hit drama in “Revolution”? Looks that way, as it’s beating the competition in the demo. This week, Miles (Billy Burke), Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) and company are on the verge of finding Danny (Graham Rogers) — until a shocking discovery threatens to impede their efforts. Meanwhile, orders from Monroe (David Lyons) have increased the value of Danny’s life and Nora (Daniella Alonso) connects with a fellow Rebel. Co-starring Elizabeth Mitchell (left) and Tim Guinee (right).

REVOLUTION

Monday, 10 p.m., NBC

Check for a pulse

First-year surgical intern Emily Owens (Mamie Gummer, below left) has discovered that the Denver hospital she’s working at is like high school. Really? She could just try doing her job. How’s that going? First day, Emily gets herself in some hot water with her attending Dr. Gina Bandari (Necar Zadegan), as well as the nurses. Another fellow intern, Tyra Dupre (Kelly McCreary) latches onto Emily, and immediately confides that she’s gay and hasn’t come out to her father, who happens to be the chief of surgery. Emily is also getting to know the slightly nerdy, but smart and handsome resident Dr. Micah Barnes (Michael Rady, right).

EMILY OWENS, M.D.

First ‘Family’

The three-time Emmy champ “Modern Family” is still the funniest show on TV and there’s a reason: it’s well-written. This week, one of Gloria’s (Sofia Vergara) new pregnancy symptoms is snoring and she’s keeping the whole house awake, forcing Jay (Ed O’Neill) to take desperate measures; and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam’s (Eric Stonestreet, above) household dynamic is put to the test when they swap duties. Mitch stays at home with Lily while Cam goes off to work at his new job as the music teacher at Luke and Manny’s school.
