Bellhop busted for peddling pot

A Manhattan bellhop was caught dealing marijuana at the posh Bowery Hotel and hauled away in handcuffs by a team of undercover cops, law-enforcement sources said today.

Matthew P. Sullivan, 25, of Williamsburg, was arrested about 5 p.m. on Wednesday after he allegedly sold pot to an officer using marked bills, sources said.

Once the alleged deal went down, cops swooped into the hotel and arrested Sullivan on a charge of misdemeanor criminal sale of marijuana.

“He was embarrassed,” a coworker at the trendy hotel said. “Everything was done in front of the hotel. He was in his uniform — guests and everyone could see.”

Sullivan, who was being charged in Manhattan criminal court, has no criminal record.

Hotel workers said they were unaware of Sullivan’s alleged sideline.

“He worked here for a couple of years,” said bellhop Nick Shelton, 25. “I feel like it was an isolated incident He’s a good guy.

“He is a pretty reserved guy, but he’s friendly, intelligent and well-read,” Shelton added.

Bowery Hotel management did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
