He wasn’t clowning around.
Cops are hunting a goofy-looking bank bandit who donned a red wig, grey sweatshirt, Yankees ball cap and thick black glasses while knocking off a Queens bank last month.
The suspect entered the Cross Country Savings Bank on Eliot Avenue near 80th Street in Middle Village around 2:50 p.m. Sept. 28 and passed a demand note to a teller, authorities said.
He also put his hand inside his jacket and simulated having a firearm, police sources said.
The teller handed him just over $6,000, and he fled, the sources added.
He is believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, 6 feet tall and around 150 pounds, police said.
