He should’ve paid for a cab! Cops nab serial bank-rob suspect as he waits for train

This bank robber needs a better get-away plan.

A serial bank robber who’d just ripped off an Upper East Side Chase was nabbed today when eagle-eyed MTA cops spotted him waiting for the train at the 125th Street Metro-North station, authorities said.

Officers Michael Burns and Joseph Terracciano recognized the suspect — later identified as Jerry Walton, 48 — from a wanted poster issued in connection to six prior Manhattan robberies.

They had just received an NYPD alert that Walton had struck again at the Chase Bank on 79th and York Avenue at 10:55 am when they saw him sitting on a bench.

That rip-off was allegedly his second robbery of the day.

Ten minutes earlier, he’d hit up another Chase at 171 East 72nd Street, police said.

Cops found the Waterbury, Conn. resident calmly waiting for the 12:17 Harlem Line train.

He had $6,860 in cash and a small amount of heroin in his possession, cops said.
