Traffic cop hit by car in Bronx

A Bronx cop is recovering after a driver smashed into him this morning, authorities said.

Video taken from the scene showed the 42-year-old officer pinned between a traffic scooter and a metal fence after a four-door silver Chevy struck him about 11:50 a.m. in Parkchester on Parker Street and Lyon Avenue.

A good Samaritan tried to help the cop, assigned to the 45th precinct, while others tried to lift the scooter off of him.

Cops and FDNY arrived on the scene, and firefighters used a ladder to lift it off of him, video also shows.

The officer uffered cuts and bruises, and was treated at Jacobi Hospital, cops said. He was listed in stable condition.

No criminality is suspected.
