In service to the city

Kudos to the winners of The New York Post’s 11th annual Liberty Medal awards.

By their exceptional service and outstanding character, these local heroes, who received their awards at a reception last night, represent precisely the spirit for which the award was established after 9/11.

They are a diverse group of everyday New Yorkers, not some powerful bigwigs. And they set an invaluable example.

The winners include folks like Christopher Rosa, a CUNY official with muscular dystrophy who spearheaded a career-readiness program for students with disabilities.

And Elizabeth and Stephen Alderman, who lost their son on 9/11 and started a humanitarian project that’s helped more than 100,000 terror victims worldwide.

Other winners: Sharon Content (Leadership); Steve St. Bernard (Courage); Kevin Brennan (New York’s Finest); Sean Heeran (New York’s Bravest); Alyssa Innamorato (Young Heart), and Valeriya Beloshkurenko (Freedom). Congrats to all.
