Dish exec mea culpa expected

Dish programming boss Carolyn Crawford, whose courtroom antics culminated in a sobbing, finger-waving tirade against a lawyer and her altercation with an elderly man, is expected back in Manhattan state court Monday to deliver a more composed message — an apology.

Lawyers for Dish Network asked Judge Richard Lowe if he would allow Crawford to make amends for her odd behavior this week.

It it believed Crawford will apologize to Dish’s lawyers, Cablevision lawyer Orin Snyder of Gibson Dunn, and his 83-year-old father, who was in the courtroom on Tuesday.

Crawford, who had just been dressed down by Snyder, tapped Snyder’s father on the back on her way out of the courtroom, saying sarcastically, “I hope you’re proud of your son.”

Crawford became emotional after the judge referred to her as “that woman,” saying she shouldn’t have been allowed to stay in the courtroom during the trial between Dish and Cablevision because she was too integral to the case.

Cablevision is suing Dish for $2.4 billion, arguing that it violated their 15-year contract when it dumped the cable operator’s Voom TV service.
