Simon Cowell wants Carmen Electra for ‘America’s Got Talent’

Simon Cowell is lobbying for Carmen Electra to join the judges’ table at “America’s Got Talent,” The Post has learned.

“He wanted to add her last year [as a fourth judge] but the network said, ‘no’,” a show source says.

Last winter, Cowell told the Post he planned to expand the panel by adding “somebody younger. A girl. Someone who will not be afraid of Sharon [Osbourne] and Howard and fight for a different type of act than they would.”

In recent weeks, Cowell has been photographed in Los Angeles with the former “Baywatch” beauty, fueling speculation that the two may be dating.

Still Electra could prove a tough sell. In February, she drew boos from the audience while filling in for Amanda Holden on “Britain’s Got Talent.”

Reps for Electra and “America’s Got Talent” did not return calls immediately.

Cowell and NBC have just a few months left to find a replacement for Osbourne, who quit the show in the middle of last season after a dispute with network execs.

Neither judges Howard Stern nor Howie Mandel have yet been confirmed for next season.

“Howard very much wants to come back,” the source says. “But he is waiting to see who else is going to be on the panel.”

The first round of open call auditions for season eight kick off in L.A. on Nov. 14. Auditions in front of judges won’t take place until February.
