Colbert’s Super PAC dodge

In all truthiness, Stephen Colbert’s jokey Super PAC, Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow has a ton of cash on hand.

But it’s apparently undecided on how — or even if — it will spend that dough in the two weeks leading up to Election Day.

Colbert himself won’t comment on the $776,000 still left in his Super PAC.

Super PACs were established the past two years when federal rules were relaxed on how much money could be raised to support or oppose political candidates (independent of those campaigns).

Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow has its windfall because it hardly spent any money last month, according to politico.com — which adds that Colbert’s PAC could spend the cash on political ads in the “swing states” so important to the Nov. 6 presidential election.

Colbert’s Super PAC raised the money online last spring — nearly $800,000 by late April — and does not have to reveal its contributors’ names.

Colbert’s rep told The Post that “The Colbert Report” host had no comment. An e-mail sent to the PAC’s Web site went unanswered.
