Hall of Famer Fisk arrested for DUI in Illinois corn field: report

Carlton Fisk couldn’t wave his way out of this one.

The Hall of Fame catcher, who hit one of the iconic home runs in World Series history, was busted for DUI in Illinois on Monday night, driving his truck through a corn field.

According to TMZ, Fisk was found asleep behind the wheel of his Ford F-150 by law enforcement agents, who also found an open container of vodka in his car.

Fisk was arrested under suspicion of DUI and refused to take a blood alcohol test at a nearby hospital, where he was taken to be examined. He was released this morning and his car was impounded.

The arrest comes just one day after the 37th anniversary of his legendary home run in the 12th inning of Game 6 of the 1975 World Series, where Fisk trots up the first-base line and waves at the ball to stay fair. Fisk’s Red Sox would eventually lose to the Reds in the deciding Game 7.
