Now you’re cooking

Chelsea Green isn’t the name of your kid’s classmate; it’s a new eco-friendly condo development on West 21st Street. Though the 51-unit building — which is aiming for LEED Gold certification — is 90 percent sold, its most luxurious pad is still available: a four-bedroom, five-bathroom penthouse with four balconies, plus an additional 1,500 square feet of outdoor space on the roof. The asking price is $8.388 million.

Among Chelsea Green’s notable features — like a concierge service and filtered air throughout — it’s the first development to feature the Eric Ripert Kitchen by Poggenpohl. Designed by the three-Michelin-starred Le Bernardin chef, the kitchen has super-efficient appliances and eco-friendly materials. It’s also designed to put an end to trapped-in-the-kitchen syndrome, with the cooktop, oven and garbage can strategically placed so anyone cooking can interact with guests.

“The kitchen becomes an essential part of your living space to entertain, socialize with friends and family and cook, potentially together, in a beautiful and serene environment,” Ripert says. “The kitchen is laid out so that movement is fluid and practical, yet fun to work in.”

Love the kitchen, love your current pad? Don’t be blue: You can also buy a version of this kitchen for your existing home. An Eric Ripert Kitchen by Poggenpohl starts at $70,000.
