‘Cheers’ reunion on new Kirstie Alley show

Well, at least everyone will know their names.

Former “Cheers” co-stars Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman will reunite on TVLand for an upcoming series.

Perlman will co-star on Alley’s sitcom pilot, “Giant Baby,” in which Alley plays Maddie Banks, a Broadway diva whose life is turned upside down when her long-lost son shows up after the death of his adoptive mother.

Perlman will play Thelma, Maddie’s “long-suffering” assistant and best friend.

Alley and Perlman co-starred on “Cheers” together for six seasons — Alley as Rebecca Howe — manager of the Boston-based bar, Cheers — and Perlman as sassy, much-married barmaid Carla Tortelli.

Perlman, an original “Cheers” cast member, was on the NBC sitcom for its entire 11-season run (1982-93).

“Giant Baby” is written by Marco Pennette.

Pennette, a TV veteran, also produced the recently canceled “Animal Practice” on NBC and ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” and “Samantha Who
?” and “Ugly Betty.”

Alley’s last series, “Kirstie Alley’s Big Life,” aired for one season on A&E.
