McCain’s Benghazi blast

WASHINGTON — Sen. John McCain suggested the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi consulate killings is a worse scandal than the infamous Watergate break-in under President Richard Nixon.

“It is still the worst coverup or incompetence I have ever observed in my life,” McCain (R-Ariz.) said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“Somebody the other day said to me, ‘Well, this is as bad as Watergate.’ Nobody died in Watergate,” said McCain.

Obama supporters defended the president yesterday, saying he has appropriately called for an independent probe of the matter.
