Changing the course: Mitt’s the one for US

The Issue: The New York Post’s endorsement of Mitt Romney for president of the United States.

Not only does Mitt Romney possess the leadership skills and ability to work with both parties, he has the stable temperament and business qualifications that make him an ideal candidate for these hard times (“The Only Choice,” Editorial, Oct. 25).

Just as FDR replaced Herbert Hoover during the Great Depression, President Obama must be replaced by a man who has all the qualities needed to put America’s economy back on the right course.

As for foreign policy, it’s obvious that the mess surrounding Benghazi is a result of an administration that had no idea how to handle the worsening situation there and problems all over the Middle East.

There is absolutely nothing that Obama can cite that he’s accomplished — he has only exacerbated the dire straits we were in when he was elected.

In 2008, Obama basically ran on a campaign of “I’m not the other guy.”

Four years later, he is running on the exact same campaign, and it’s a positive for Romney.

It’s quite clear that the president is no more qualified now than he was four years ago. It’s time to let an adult run the show.Louie Rey

Obama obviously did not do a perfect job, but if his administration had not authorized the bailouts and enacted extended public benefits, we would be in very bad shape.

I would rather take a chance with Obama for four more years than change again.

In 2008, the country was in shock over our economic collapse.

Many voters felt they had no option but to vote for the Democratic Party. Young voters were energized to stimulate a change.

Why is this not happening now for Republicans if things are so bad?

Four years ago, Obama promised to fix a broken economy, which he blamed on George W. Bush. Today. our economy is on life support, and Obama is still blaming Bush.

This tired act has run its course, and he’s run out of time. America needs Romney. Gerald Jacobs

I am saddened that The Post endorsed Romney.

While we have a long road ahead, I would love to see any average person do the job of the president.

In a society where our expectations are that everything is fixed immediately, The Post would rather choose a man who flip-flops time and time again, and has mirrored the exact language of our current president.

I am happily casting my ballot as a non-party-affiliated voter for our current president so he can finish the job of cleaning up the mess the Bush administration created.Lisa Siefert
