“Gossip Girl” is back on TV for Cablevision customers, thanks to a deal between CW station owner Tribune and the Long Island cable operator.
The two sides said late last night that they had reached a deal to return several Tribune-owned stations, including Connecticut’s WTIC and New York’s WPIX, to the airwaves after a fee dispute.
“We are pleased to have reached agreement with Tribune to return its stations to Cablevision, particularly its Fox affiliate in Connecticut, the only source of Fox programming for about 50,000 of our customers,” said a Cablevision statement.
News Corp., which owns Fox, also owns The Post.
The channels have been off the air since Aug. 17, when the two sides fell out over distribution fee increases requested by Tribune.
Neither party said what the new terms are. The agreement comes just days after Cablevision pocketed $350 million in legal settlement fees following a carriage dispute with Dish.
Tribune, which also owns the Los Angeles Times and a piece of Food Network, is in the process of exiting bankruptcy.
