Cheese! Mitt tied in Wis.

WASHINGTON — A new poll shows Mitt Romney has pulled even with President Obama in Wisconsin, the swing state that this year offers the Republican an unconventional path to the White House.

Romney tied Obama at 49 percent yesterday in a Rasmussen Reports survey. He trailed 50-48 percent last week.

It’s the latest sign that the race is getting tighter 10 days before the Nov. 6 election.

The Badger State, home of running mate Paul Ryan, could help Romney make up electoral votes if he loses the battle for Ohio. Wisconsin has 10 electoral votes. Ohio has 18.

Still, no Republican has ever won the White House without capturing Ohio.

Obama hit the crucial 50-percent threshold in Ohio and led Romney, 50-46, in a CNN/Opinion Research poll released yesterday.
