Shots were fired during a police car chase in East Harlem early yesterday, sources said.

According to cops, two crooks robbed five men at gunpoint on Fifth Avenue near 118th Street shortly before 3:15 a.m., snatching cash and smartphones, then jumped into a blue 2009 Nissan Altima that fled in wrong direction up Lexington Avenue.

A patrol car tried to stop the car, but one thug pointed his gun at it, and a sergeant shot at him, sources said. No one was hit.

The Altima crashed into a Toyota Corolla at East 115th Street and Second Avenue, sources said.

Police arrested three people in the Altima, and recovered two weapons.

A punk vandalized several gasoline pumps in East Elmhurst, spilling hundreds of gallons of fuel, according to police.

The suspect (above) entered the Enterprise car-rental lot on 23rd Avenue near 85th Street at about 1:45 a.m. Friday and unhooked three hoses from the pumps, cops said.

He started the fuel flowing and fled.

The suspect is described as 5-foot-10 and 160 to 185 pounds, cops said. He was wearing black sunglasses, a gray or blue hat and a gray sweatshirt.

The Bronx

A snarling, knife-wielding thug robbed a woman in Kingsbridge, according to police.

The suspect (above) approached the 25-year-old woman in an elevator of an apartment building at Bailey and Orloff avenues at 3:10 p.m. on Oct. 13, cops said.

He took off with her purse and cellphone.

Staten Island

Love bites.

A woman bit off part of her husband’s tongue in their Westerleigh home, cops said.

Julianne Borgiorni, 41, and her hubby were arguing in their Jewett Avenue home at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, court papers state.

When he moved in to kiss her — perhaps to make up — Borgiorni bit off the tip of his tongue, law-enforcement sources said.

She was arrested, and he was treated at Staten Island University Hospital, records show.

Brooklyn

A Gowanus resident has been plagued by mail and package thieves, police sources said.

The 46-year-old victim returned to her 16th Street residence at about 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 16, and found a FedEx package torn open, sources said.

A Trina tote bag that had been inside was taken. The victim also said she has repeatedly found her mail ripped open in recent weeks.
