Rams rumble for last-minute win

Carlton Koonce’s third touchdown run of the game, a 1-yarder with 11 seconds remaining, lifted Fordham to a 36-32 win over Holy Cross (1-7) yesterday in Worcester, Mass.

Koonce, who had 176 yards on 35 carries, scored to cap a 78-yard drive that included 10 completions by Ryan Higgins, who threw for 407 yards and a TD for the Rams (5-3).

Columbia 26, Yale 22

In Manhattan, Sean Brackett rushed for one touchdown and threw for 328 yards and two more scores, the second a 2-yard pass to Marcorus Garrett with 45 seconds left, to give Columbia (2-5, 1-3 Ivy League) the comeback victory over Yale (2-5, 1-3).

Wagner 23, Robert Morris 13

In Staten Island, Nick Doscher threw for 228 yards and ran for a touchdown and Otis Wright returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a TD to help Wagner (5-3, 5-1 NEC) beat Robert Morris (2-6, 1-4).

Stony Brook 56, Presbyterian 17

In Clinton, S.C., Miguel Maysonet ran for 212 yards and two touchdowns, Marcus Coker had 144 rushing yards and two TDs and Stony Brook (8-1, 4-0 Big South) rushed for 356 yards and got three TD passes from Kyle Essington to Kevin Norrell to blow out Presbyterian (2-7, 0-4).

Syracuse 37, South Florida 36

In Tampa, Fla., Ryan Nassib threw four second-half touchdown passes, including a 1-yard toss to Alec Lemon with 3 seconds left as Syracuse (4-4, 3-1 Big East) rallied from a 20-point halftime deficit to defeat South Florida (2-6, 0-4).

Marist 44, Valparaiso 7

In Valparaiso, Ind., Chuckie Looney threw touchdown passes of 97 and 78 yards to Mike Rios and Marist (3-5, 2-3 Pioneer League) rushed for 349 yards to rout Valparaiso (0-8, 0-5).
