Boston cooks for Sandy relief

Boston’s restaurant community has New York’s back in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. On Wednesday, Ken Oringer (who’s working to open a Manhattan outpost of his Toro tapas bar on 10th Avenue and 15th Street and also has Clio, Uni, La Verdad, Coppa and Earth in Boston) and fellow Boston chefs including his Toro and Coppa partner Jamie Bissonnette, Ming Tsai (Blue Ginger), Tony Maws (Craigie on Main), Jay Hajj (Mike’s City Diner), Michael Serpa (Neptune Oyster Bar) and Joanne Chang (Flour Bakery, Myers + Chang) are cooking to raise money for the American Red Cross. It’s a minimum donation of $500-per-person for a feast at Mike’s City Diner that includes white truffles, oysters, foie gras, duck and lobster. sandyreliefbostonpopup.eventbrite.com
