’Boys’ Jones in lockdown

The Cowboys are far from where Jerry Jones wants them to be, and the owner dealt with even more frustration following a 19-13 loss to the undefeated Falcons Sunday night.

After the defeat in Atlanta, Jones was seen furiously banging on his team’s locker-room door, unable to get in, according to NBC 5 in Dallas.

“Jerry Jones just pounded locker-room door because no one would let him in,” tweeted Matt Barrie of the TV station. “It’s the angriest I’ve seen him all year.”

Jones did eventually get in to talk to the team and answer questions from reporters. His team is now 2 1/2 games behind the Giants in the NFC East. The Cowboys will travel to Philadelphia to play the Eagles this Sunday.

In an interview with NBC’s Bob Costas, broadcast before the nationally televised game, Jones also said he would have fired the man making the personnel decisions — which, of course, is himself.

Dismissing speculation he might be interested in Sean Payton, Jones said he has “a lot of faith” in coach Jason Garrett and has no idea if the suspended Saints coach might be available next season.

COLTS: Head coach Chuck Pagano is winning his battle with leukemia.

Yesterday, Dr. Larry Cripe, Pagano’s physician, told the Associated Press the illness which has sidelined Pagano for more than a month was in “complete remission.” Cripe said a morning exam showed Pagano’s white blood cell count and bone marrow tests were normal as he prepares to start a second round of chemotherapy.
