A man claimed to be a member of the Taliban and threatened his neighbor with a machete in Cypress Hills, authorities said.

Akbar Abdin, 39, clashed with the 48-year-old victim at about 1 p.m. Thursday on Norwood Avenue near Atlantic Avenue over construction in front of the neighbor’s home, law-enforcement sources said.

“I am going to f–k you up!” Abdin allegedly snarled while brandishing the blade. “I am going to chop you and your family into pieces! I am a Taliban!”

He was charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment.

A boozed-up, off-duty school-safety agent was busted in Crown Heights for drunken driving, police said.

Hector Minaya, 27, allegedly blew a red light at about 12:50 a.m. yesterday at Montgomery Street and Nostrand Avenue, police sources said.

He allegedly failed a Breathalyzer test, blowing more than twice the legal limit.

Minaya was charged with DWI, as well as failure to obey a traffic signal, among other charges, cops said.

A thief was cuffed after he triggered chaos at a Carroll Gardens diner, authorities said.

Rickie Beamonhundley, 28, was spotted trying to grab a customer’s payment and tip from a table inside the eatery on Smith Street near Bergen Street at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday and then allegedly punched a 49-year-old man who tried to confront him, court papers claim.

Beamonhundley allegedly knocked several items to the floor and hit a store employee, 46, with a metal tray, records show.

He then shattered a glass door and resisted arrest when cops arrived, authorities added.

Beamonhundley was charged with robbery, assault, criminal mischief and resisting arrest, among other offenses.

Staten Island

Two people were caught trying to break into cars in New Dorp after the area was evacuated for Hurricane Sandy, authorities said.

Maryann Perez, 31, and Angelo Guadarrama, 33, were spotted at about 4:40 a.m. Saturday on Sterling Avenue near Clawson Street approaching several cars and testing the door handles to see if any were unlocked, court papers claim.

When the couple was searched, cops allegedly found a flashlight and gloves on them, as well as cash, car keys, a stolen vehicle registration and sunglasses, law-enforcement sources said.

Perez also allegedly had crack cocaine on her, and Guadarrama had a crack stem on him, the sources added.

They were charged with possession of burglar’s tools, as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance, authorities said.

Five burglars were busted in Mariners Harbor when a homeowner caught them in his residence, authorities said.

The victim came home at 4:50 a.m. Friday to his house on Martineau Street and found the creeps there, according to court documents. The three women and two men had trudged all through the house, records claim.

Emeka Aduba, 18, Terri Benjamin, 26, Donovan Taylor, 17, Tyshena Moore, 24, and Latasha Brown, 24, were busted on charges of criminal trespass, according to District Attorney Dan Donovan.

The Bronx

A man beat up his wife and smashed her television set in Morris Heights — then tried to punch the cop who arrested him, authorities said.

The violence began during an argument at about 10 p.m. Oct. 30 on Andrews Avenue near West Tremont Avenue when Glen Nunez-Brea, 29, allegedly took his spouse’s cellphone and threw it to the ground, cracking it, court papers state.

He then allegedly snarled, “I am going to do something to you that you will not be able to go out!”

Nunez-Brea also allegedly grabbed the victim’s hair and threw her to the ground, kicking her repeatedly, the records claim.

The husband then erupted again at about 12:30 a.m., smashing a television and throwing bleach on clothing that was in the victim’s dresser, authorities said.

When police came, Nunez-Brea allegedly tried to pummel an officer, but the cop ducked, according to the records.

He was charged with assault, criminal mischief, menacing, resisting arrest and attempted assault.

Queens

Two thugs pulled off a pair of gunpoint heists in two Queens neighborhoods, authorities said.

The duo first struck at 10:50 a.m. Oct. 26 on 134th Street and Linden Boulevard in South Ozone Park, when they mugged a man on the street, police said.

One goon flashed a gun, while the other took the man’s property, cops said. They both ran from the scene, police said.

The punks struck again at around 11:45 a.m. Oct. 30 on 108th Street in Corona, police said.

The crooks pulled the same tactic on their victim and fled with the man’s belongings, cops said.

No one was injured during the robberies, police said.
