Madoff’s first sucker guilty

He hitched his wagon to the wrong star.

The first employee hired by Bernie Madoff pleaded guilty yesterday to falsifying records for the arch fraudster — but insisted he never knew it was part of the world’s largest Ponzi scheme.

Irwin Lipkin said he had so much faith in his boss’ phony stock-picking abilities that he told his whole family to trust Madoff.

“In fact, my wife, my sons and my grandchildren invested and lost virtually all their money,” Lipkin said in Manhattan federal court.

Lipkin, 74, faces up to a decade in the slammer.
