Rivals will wait it out at home

President Obama and Mitt Romney will head back home to view election results tonight after months of exhausting campaigning in battleground states.

Obama will have his election-night gathering at McCormick Place in Chicago. Tickets are required for supporters to get in.

Romney will address his fans at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

Both candidates will have their families at their sides as they learn whether the Obamas or Romneys will be living in the White House next year.

Obama cut his political teeth in Chicago, where he served as a state senator before his election to the US Senate.

Romney launched his business career in Boston and served as governor of Massachusetts.
