Queens Republican Eric Ulrich conceded a bitterly contested state Senate race yesterday morning to incumbent Joe Addabbo Jr..
The race was closely watched by Democrats as they sought to regain control of the Senate.
Democrats did snatch the majority, but it is unclear who will control the Senate at this point because of an internal partisan split among the Dems.
Ulrich, a member of the City Council, said he will refocus his efforts on helping his district, which encompasses Breezy Point, Belle Harbor and Far Rockaway, some of the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Sandy.
