82-year-old Queens man struck and killed by National Guard vehicle in Chinatown

An 82-year-old Queens man has been struck and killed by a National Guardsman driving in a convoy of about six vehicles.

Police say Kwok Fu was crossing the road near Centre and Canal streets in Chinatown around 1:25 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck. The truck was a six-wheel, camouflage-covered vehicle.

Police say the driver remained at the scene. The National Guard is in New York to help with post-Sandy relief efforts. A message left with the guard wasn’t immediately returned Tuesday.
