A stripper-turned-madam — who boasted of employing working girls, including a surgeon and an Olympic athlete — was sentenced yesterday to time served after spending the last 2 1/2 years in a federal lockup.
Naira Jalovian, 32, schemed to knock out competitors by paying a corrupt federal immigration agent to take down rivals, prosecutor said.
Jalovian admitted slipping stacks of bills to the G-man and promising him a cut of her business.
In return, she wanted the agent to make sure he “cleaned out” 50 to 70 percent of her escort-service competitors.
At the time of the 2010 sting, Jalovian advertised her stable of prostitutes on an erotic Web site and charged between $800 and $1,000 for liaisons at apartments she rented in Manhattan, officials said.
She pleaded guilty to the bribe scheme and to a charge of crossing state lines to further prostitution.
Brooklyn federal Judge Kiyo Matsumoto noted that she was handing out a reduced sentence because Jalovian had aided prosecutors conducting a probe.
“Ms. Jalovian did provide information to the government,” Matsumoto said.
Because she already has spent nearly 2 1/2 years behind bars awaiting trial, the judge gave Jalovian credit for the time served.
