Anti-Muslim film guy jailed

The California man behind an anti-Muslim film that spurred violent protests in the Middle East has been sentenced to a year in federal prison for probation violations in an unrelated matter.

“Innocence of Muslims” creator Mark Basseley Youssef, 55, was sentenced yesterday after he admitted he had used several false names in violation of his probation order and obtained a driver’s license under a false name. He was on probation for a bank-fraud case.

The sentence was the result of a plea bargain between Youssef’s lawyers and federal prosecutors.

The probation violations were unrelated to the content of the film, which depicts Mohammad as a pedophile and womanizer.
