Hipsters rejoice!
The L train is running into Manhattan again, 11 days after Hurricane Sandy flooded its tunnels.
The MTA had been ending service Rockaway Parkway after severe damage to the 14th Street tube that brings the train under the East River.
It announced today that it’s running limited service to every station on the line.
Expect longer than average delays for service, officials said.
“We continue to progress toward the complete restoration of service and will continue to do so incrementally, but only when it’s safe and doesn’t overcharge the system,” said MTA Chairman and CEO Joseph J. Lhota.
“However, much work remains to restore service in the Rockaways and along the Sea Beach Line in Brooklyn, which were devastated by Hurricane Sandy.”
The R train is still not running from Lower Manhattan to Brooklyn and the N in Coney Island is closed due to flooding.
