Ex-girlfriend: WNBA star Holdsclaw shot gun at me

WNBA star Chamique Holdsclaw is wanted in Georgia for an incident in which she allegedly fired a gun into her former girlfriend’s car after bashing its windows in with a baseball bat, according to TMZ.

Holdsclaw, 35, a Queens native and Christ the King High School graduate, is regarded as one of the best women’s basketball players of all time. She was drafted first overall by the Washington Mystics in 1999 out of Tennessee. While Holdsclaw was at Tennessee, the Lady Vols won three national championships.Holdsclaw, who spent six of her 12 pro seasons in Washington, last played in 2010 for the San Antonio Silver Stars and is under contract there.

Holdsclaw’s ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lacy, 29, who plays for the WNBA’s Tulsa Shock, told police the drama unfolded when she saw Holdsclaw following her after she finished a workout at a local church. The police report said Lacy felt scared and called a friend, who agreed to meet her at a nearby location.

Once Lacy got there, the pursuing the pursuing Holdsclaw allegedly left her car and approached Lacy’s with a baseball bat. Lacy told police Holdsclaw bashed in her car windows before pulling out a pistol, sticking it inside the car — with Lacy still in it — and firing it.

Holdsclaw allegedly fled the scene. Police said they recovered a 9mm shell casing when they arrived.

Lacy, 29, and Holdsclaw both played for the Atlanta Dream in 2009.

Holdsclaw, who never lived up to her promise in the WNBA, has had issues with mental health. She wrote in her autobiography “Breaking Through: Beating the Odds Shot After Shot” that she struggled with depression throughout her pro career and once attempted suicide.
