Shrink attack ‘self-defense’

It was self-defense, says a student charged with attacking a West 57th Street shrink with a knife and a sledgehammer in the doctor’s home office Monday.

Florida native Jacob Nolan, 20, was sprung last night on $200,000 bail on charges of attempted murder and burglary after telling his side through his attorney, Stuart Slotnick.

The lawyer told a Manhattan judge that Dr. Michael Weiss “stabbed my client . . . in the chest.’’

Weiss is the father of Nolan’s godson. The violence started with a dispute over the doctor’s alleged failure to pay financial support for the boy, Slotnick said.
