DA drops heroin charge against Bon Jovi’s teenage daughter

Drug charges against rocker Jon Bon Jovi’s 19-year-old daughter have been dropped, prosecutors said yesterday.

Stephanie Bongiovi was found unresponsive by medics Wednesday after she apparently overdosed on heroin in a dorm at upstate Hamilton College.

She and a fellow student, Ian Grant, both of Red Bank, NJ, were subsequently charged with possession of a small amount of heroin and marijuana.

But Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara yesterday said he was dismissing the charges because, under the law, someone suffering a drug overdose or seeking help for an overdose victim cannot be prosecuted for possessing a small amount of heroin or any amount of pot.

The so-called Good Samaritan 911 Law was signed by Gov. Cuomo in July 2011.

The purpose was to reduce deaths related to drug overdoses by encouraging people to call police without fear that they might be arrested for drug possession.

Bon Jovi, 50, is scheduled to perform at a concert to benefit Hamilton’s scholarships and arts programs in Times Square on Dec. 5.
