Queens thug indicted on first-degree murder over fatal May shooting

A Queens thug’s charges were upgraded by a grand jury today for allegedly killing a man who testified against him in an earlier robbery case.

Shytique Kelly, 21 of Arverne, was indicted on first-degree murder charges when he approached Tysheen Coakley and his two buddies near 110th Avenue and 160th Street on May 27 and fired shots at them.

Coakley, 21, was hit in the chest and died at the scene.

The victim — who had an order of protection against his assailant — was a witness to a crime that allegedly involved Kelly when he was a juvenile and “the killing was committed for the purpose of exacting retribution” for his prior testimony, said Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown.

“I’ve gotten myself into too much trouble already,” read prosecutor Karen Ross from Kelly’s oral statements made to detectives three days after the bloodshed.

Kelly was found by police crouched inside a closet in his apartment with the alleged murder weapon nearby.

The gunman was allegedly driven to and from the scene by Jazmin Guillebeax, who allegedly destroyed the getaway car and was also charged in connection to the murder.

Kelly was also charged with two-counts of second-degree murder, weapons possession, criminal contempt and witness tampering.

Kelly and Guillebeaux were both held without bail and ordered back to court on Jan 29.
