RG3 does a number on rookie Foles, Eagles

Robert Griffin III barely let the ball hit the ground.

Fifteen attempts, 14 completions. Touchdown passes of 6, 49, 61 and 17 yards — one in each quarter. Uncountable chants of “RG3.”

The Redskins (4-6) got three takeaways and four sacks, and Griffin threw for 200 yards and ran for 84 in a 31-6 win over the Eagles yesterday in Landover, Md.

The Eagles (3-7) have dropped six straight and have their longest in-season losing streak since 1994 — accelerating the countdown toward the possible end of Andy Reid’s 14-year tenure as coach.

Nick Foles got the start because Michael Vick is recovering from a concussion, and completed 21 for 46 for 204 yards.

LeSean McCoy had 15 carries for 45 yards before being carted off with a suspected concussion.

Broncos 30, Chargers 23

In Denver, Peyton Manning threw for three touchdowns and Von Miller had three sacks, as the Broncos (7-3) took a three-game lead over the Chargers (4-6) in the AFC West.

Manning threw for 270 yards and Miller finished the day with 13 sacks — most in the NFL.

Buccaneers 27, Panthers 21 (OT)

In Charlotte, Josh Freeman threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Clark in overtime to cap a comeback win for the Buccaneers, who have won five of their last six to improve to 6-4.

The Panthers (2-8) appeared to have the game in hand after a 29-yard touchdown pass from Cam Newton to Brandon LaFell put them up 21-10 with six minutes left.

Packers 24, Lions 20

In Detroit, Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes, including a 22-yarder to Randall Cobb with 1:55 left, and the Packers (7-3) came through with their fifth straight win.

Matthew Stafford threw two interceptions for the Lions (4-6) — one of which was returned 72 yards by Green Bay safety M.D. Jennings for a go-ahead score in the third quarter.

Falcons 23, Cardinals 19

In Atlanta, Matt Ryan overcame a career-worst five interceptions, and the Falcons (9-1) rallied from their first loss of the season for a sloppy victory over the Cardinals (4-6).

Saints 38, Raiders 17

In Oakland, Drew Brees threw three touchdown passes and Malcolm Jenkins returned an interception for a score to get the Saints back to .500 at 5-5 after an 0-4 start. The Raiders (3-7) lost their third straight.

Bengals 28, Chiefs 6

In Kansas City, Mo., Andy Dalton threw for 230 yards and accounted for three touchdowns, A.J. Green caught a touchdown pass in his ninth straight game and the Bengals (5-5) beat the woeful Chiefs (1-9).

Arrowhead Stadium was roughly half-full and a good percentage of those who showed up were wearing black as part of a campaign organized by disgruntled fans.
