CHARLOTTE — She’s sorry.

Paula Broadwell is telling friends she’s devasted by the fallout from her extramarital affair with ex-CIA chief David Petraeus.

Broadwell’s family was the picture of domestic bliss yesterday as they returned to their tony Charlotte, NC, home for the first time since Paula’s affair was exposed.

Paula and her husband, Scott, pulled up at around 5 p.m. Each carried one of their young sons into the home, which they’d avoided since the scandal erupted on Nov. 9.

Scott initially told reporters, “We’ve got no comment for you now, but we’ll have a statement for you soon.” He later told The Post he’d written the message in front of their home — “Dad ♥s Mom” — with a power-washer.

About a dozen neighbors gathered inside the home last night to welcome the Broadwells back after they’d spent the past few days at Paula’s brother’s Washington, DC, home.

“We’re all really glad to have the Broadwells back in town,” said one man who asked not to be identified. “They have the love and support of friends and neighbors.”

The well-wishers brought gift baskets with wine and food and flowers. They stayed for a couple of hours.

“They’re doing well,” said neighbor Liz Burgess, who said she was glad Paula “let us be here for her.”
