Chris tops with NYers

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has drawn the highest marks among elected officials in the storm-ravaged region for his response to Hurricane Sandy, a poll of New York voters shows.

The Quinnipiac University poll of 1,165 city voters showed Christie with an 89 percent approval rating.

Gov. Cuomo received an 85 percent Sandy approval rating, and President Obama got an 84 percent thumbs-up for the storm.

Mayor Bloomberg also was seen as handling the storm response well, with 75 percent of those surveyed saying he did a good job.

But New Yorkers were not happy with their utility companies. Only 37 percent approved of the response by Con Edison and LIPA.
