Jets blitz

HERO

Who are you, and what did you do with Mark Sanchez? The Sanchez haters — anonymous and otherwise — will have to bite their tongues at least until Thursday after a terrific performance by the Jets’ embattled QB. Despite being sacked three times, Sanchez made several terrific throws and finished a nearly pristine 15-of-20 for 178 yards and a TD for a 118.3 rating. Best of all? No turnovers.

UNSUNG HERO

Muhammad Wilkerson continues to play like a man possessed lately, and his relentlessness appeared to jump-start the Jets’ defense after it had allowed a TD drive on the Rams’ opening possession. Wilkerson had a sack, forced a fumble and notched four tackles yesterday after forcing a fumble and returning another for a score last week in Seattle.

ZERO

It’s time to stop talking about the promise and potential of Sam Bradford. The former No. 1 overall pick just isn’t worthy of the hype. Despite having a full complement of weapons, Bradford completed just 23 of his 44 passes for 170 yards. His two TD passes came early and way too late to save the Rams.

KEY NUMBER

35 Days between victories by the Jets, whose last win before yesterday was Oct. 14 at home over the Colts.
