Spinning into 2013

There’s no rest in the DJ world, especially around New Year’s. Electronic dance-music fans could go on quite the bender to ring in 2013.

Las Vegas, which largely funds the whole international DJ mania with its gigantic nightclubs, is of course the center of it all and the best place to end the year with a bangarang.

XS at Steve Wynn’s Encore resort has a ridiculously stacked lineup with Tiesto on Dec. 28, Steve Angello on Dec. 29, Deadmau5 on Dec. 30 and Avicii on New Year’s Eve.

Surrender at Encore has a similarly outrageous lineup with Steve Aoki on Dec. 28, Calvin Harris on Dec. 29, Skrillex on Dec. 30 and Eric Prydz on New Year’s Eve. In addition, Andrea’s, the new restaurant that’s part of the Surrender and Encore Beach Club party complex, is opening on Dec. 28, with Angello tapped as “Musical Chef.” He’ll produce exclusive music mixes for the restaurant, which will also feature live DJ sets as the dinner hour turns into the nightlife hour.

Plus, Marquee at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is lighting up the night as usual: It also has Avicii on Dec. 30, bookended by Kaskade on Dec. 29 and Benny Benassi on New Year’s Eve.

And after Vegas, maybe you’ll decide that the most worthy New Year’s resolution for you is to see more DJs. Good for you, if so.

The BPM Festival is Jan. 4 to Jan. 13 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico with Carl Cox, Loco Dice, Richie Hawtin, Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Boris and dozens more.

There’s also the Holy Ship cruise, which leaves from Nassau, Bahamas, and takes place from Jan. 4 to Jan. 7. That lineup includes Justice, Diplo, Knife Party, Dillon Francis, Zedd and 12th Planet.
