An electrical blaze in the Financial District injured 30 electrical workers, authorities said.

About 200 employees were working in the basement of 55 Water Street, a skyscraper near South Street, when a transformer damaged by Hurricane Sandy caught on fire about 9:30 a.m., according to an FDNY official.

Thirty workers suffered smoke inhalation, and four were taken to New York Downtown Hospital, authorities said. The rest were treated at the scene.

The flames were extinguished shortly after 11 a.m.
