House-crash horror: 6-year-old dead after bus slams into his Long Island home

A bus crashed into a Long Island house this evening — leaving a 6-year-old boy dead and others injured, police said.

The Nassau Inter County Express bus smashed into the home on Fulton Avenue in Hempstead around 9:30 p.m., cops said.

The NICE bus was trying to avoid striking a pedestrian in the street when it veered into the house, officials said.

The child was in his home with his parents when he was hit, cops said.

“He was just in a bad spot,” said Hempstead Police Sgt. Mark Kirichenko.

The boy, whose name wasn’t released, later died at an area hospital, Kirichenko said.

The bus also hit the pedestrian — who was rushed to Nassau University Medical Center in critical condition.

There were approximately 15 passengers on the Route N70 when the accident occurred.

Nine passengers were taken to the hospital, while the others declined medical attention, said a NICE spokesman.

“NICE is cooperating with police officials, and has its own team investigating the incident,” the spokesman added.

Police said no criminality was suspected.
