White House tree fir sure

WASHINGTON — First lady Michelle Obama is kicking off the holiday season by welcoming the White House Christmas tree, which she called “perfect.”

She and daughters Malia and Sasha and first dog Bo greeted the 19-foot Fraser fir’s arrival from Jefferson, NC, via horse-drawn carriage. It will be displayed in the Blue Room.

The National Christmas Tree Association has presented the official White House tree since 1966.
