PATH back on track downtown

The flood-ravaged World Trade Center PATH line will finally resume service tomorrow between lower Manhattan and New Jersey.

The line will run only weekdays between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Hurricane Sandy left the station’s tracks and platforms submerged under several feet of water.

Port Authority workers have bailed out the soggy rails but must complete work on ruined switch and signal systems in order to restore weekend service.

Service on the PATH’s 33rd Street line will return to normal tomorrow between Journal Square in New Jersey and 33rd Street in Manhattan.

Weekend service will resume Saturday.

The Hoboken station remains closed because of severe damage to equipment — and crews are working around the clock to fix it.

Meanwhile, a ferry is running between Pier 79 on West 39th Street in Manhattan and Hoboken between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. weekdays. A free shuttle bus will take riders from the pier to the Manhattan terminal in Midtown.
