Hofstra crushed by hot-shooting George Washington

WASHINGTON — Isaiah Armwood had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks and George Washington shot nearly 71 percent from the field in the second half during an 80-56 rout of Hofstra on Saturday.

Lasan Kromah scored 15 points and Kevin Larsen added 14 for the Colonials (2-2) who broke open a 19-15 game with a 15-1 run.

George Washington led 38-22 at halftime on 17-of-31 shooting (54.8 percent), compared to 8-of-30 shooting (26.7 percent) for the Pride (3-4).

After the break, the Colonials were even hotter, shooting 70.8 percent (17 of 24) to finish at 61.8 percent (34 of 55).

George Washington dominated Hofstra 52-22 in the paint and 40-27 on the glass.

Tara Buie, a transfer from Penn State in his first career start, scored 15 points and Jimmy Hall chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds for the Pride, who shot 31.7 percent for the game (19 of 60).
