An off-duty NYPD sergeant was charged with assault yesterday for allegedly slugging a woman in a dispute over luggage space on a Chinatown bus.
The melee erupted when Besemah Rogers, a cop, was helping her daughter board a Ming An bus to Savannah, Ga., Monday evening.
She got into a feud with an unidentified woman over a spot in the bus’ baggage hold, said her daughter, Ymani Rogers.
Rogers never swung at the woman, her daughter insisted. “The woman . . . smacked her in the face,” Ymani said.
Rogers, 42, of Brooklyn, was freed without bail.
