NFL: Kaepernick to start Sunday for 49ers

HOOPS: Wizards top Blazers for first win

ETC: Feds bring NHL sides back to table

Negotiators from the NHL and the players’ association returned to the bargaining table for the first time in a week and for the first time with outside voices belonging to federal mediators contributing to the talks. The location was secret, and so was what was discussed. The sides will be back at the negotiating table today.

Devils center Adam Henrique will be sidelined up to six weeks after having a procedure to repair a ligament in his left thumb which he hurt playing for the Devils’ AHL affiliate.

LSU gave football coach Les Miles a new seven-year contract. A source said Miles’ annual pay would be in the range of $4.3 million.
