‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ keeping Dick Clark’s name

Did the late Dick Clark forgot to list one piece of property in his estate?

Turns out he owns New Year’s Eve.

ABC yesterday said it was keeping Dick Clark’s name on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” special, even though he passed away in May.

Clark started the special in 1972 on rival NBC and hosted it for 33 years in a row until he suffered a stroke in 2004.

American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest — who has made no secret that he has fashioned his TV career on Clark’s — filled in that year and shared the hosting duties with Clark ever since.

Yesterday, an ABC spokesman said it had not yet been decided how long Clark’s name will live on in the show’s title.
